Chenin Blanc, Lubanzi Vineyards, Swartland, SA ('25)
A wine that's as beautiful as Cape Town itself! 100% handpicked Chenin Blanc grown in South Africa's famous Swartland region. Made using a blend of grapes that come from a diverse collection of Swartland soils, with each piece of land putting its own mark on the final product. Chenin Blanc is a white wine varietal known for its high acidity, orchard fruit character (think apple and pear), delicate floral notes, and a hint of honey. It can have a rounder texture that gives it a little more body than you might expect.
Lubanzi was hand curated as part of Stachowski's Thanksgiving offerings this year, because it pair perfectly with poultry items, such as roasted chicken and Turkey. Chenin's balanced structure, especially one with a hint of minerality, complements savory, herby flavor. The wine’s acidity also cuts effortlessly through crispy skin and rendered fat.
